In 2011, a scientific article was published in a journal with a very high impact factor – US National Library of Medicine to the National Institutes of Health. This article is a comprehensive review on pharmacological effects of Rosa Damascena.
“The medicinal functions of Rosa Damascena are partly attributed to their abundance of phenolics compound. Phenolics possess a wide range of pharmacological activities, such as antioxidants, free-radical scavengers, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, and antidepressant”.
Antioxidant, Anti-inflammatory and Antimicrobial effects
Authors suggest that Rosa Damascena can be considered as a medical source for the treatment and prevention of many free radical diseases.
