Shumata is a village in Sevlievo Municipality Gabrovo Province, in northern central Bulgaria. It borders with two protected areas, one of them called the Log.
The locaiton of the apiary is within Natura 2000, which is a national park and protexted are of the European Union. It is made up of Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas designated respectively under the Habitats Directive and Birds Directive.
Within the are there are 17ha of pastures, 12ha of orchards, 4ha of acacia trees, 2ha of linden trees and no industrial crops.
